Public Abstract
Project was intended to achieve the goal of maintaining the reliable and cost effective transportation of energy products through pipelines to the American public. Outcome of the research was intended to be data analysis to ensure that plastic pipe installed in gas distribution systems, particularly piping installed to the requirement for a minimum hydrostatic strength at 140 degrees Farenheit, is still structurally sound. The outcome from this study, therefore, will be to provide information on the susceptibility to premature brittle-like fracture.
