Main Objective
This Small Business Innovative Research Program Phase II project will improve upon the prior phase success with a focus on improving the use of directional magnetic steel permeability measurements to estimate strains in the pipe (with a focus on bending strains). The improvement will be independent of temperature, magnetization, and other error sources. At the end of the project, the bending load and crack detection capabilities will be demonstrated using JENTEK's 12-inch prototype in-line inspection tool.
