Main Objective
The project will improve and deploy additional instances of a pipeline ROW Monitoring System based on stationary sensors mounted on/near the pipeline. Sensor data from multiple locations along the pipe is wirelessly forwarded to a central location for processing and analytics correlate the data from multiple sensors to rapidly alert operators to events occurring in the ROW. The project will deploy improved field hardware and with Machine Learning analytics.
Public Abstract
The main objective is to demonstrate a sensing platform permanently deployed at discrete locations in the ROW. These locations are wirelessly connected to a software back-end that performs sensor data fusion to identify integrity threats in the ROW. These leading indicators can be used to prevent damage or leakage. A single prototype of this system has been deployed on a live utility site. This work would address needed improvements and deploy the system to additional utility sites.
