Main Objective

Under this grant awards the funds will work to ensure recently elected officials and community leaders receive the necessary pipeline safety information for continued awareness. It will participate in the public education campaigns and distribute information and safety awareness teaching tools to target new labor force entrants found in vocational trades program throughout the region, transient workers in work camps and RV parks, agriculture and seasonal workers, and other individuals who may be accessed at public events. Project staff will partner with Permian Basin Damage Prevention Council to participate in local public events which provide an opportunity for awareness and dissemination of information to the general public.

Public Abstract

Under the terms of this agreement, the Recipient must demonstrate completion of the work through actions it has specified in its Application.

  • Planning
  • Project staff will update all PBRPC departments, chief elected officials and local leadership of project benefits.
  • Update PBRPC Pipeline Safety webpage.
  • Conduct a review of the region's emergency management plan to ensure inclusion of pipeline safety information.
  • Partnership building
  • Outreach to environmental advocacy organizations, recycling agencies, landscape companies and provide awareness to the local communities both private and public and address special target groups.
  • Educate county environmental enforcement officers who monitor local code violations.
  • Provide 811 education items for distribution and will participate in local public campaigns.
  • Provide pipeline mapping information and 811 awareness.
  • Solicit information about new industries and businesses.
