Main Objective

Purpose of this study was to verify, consolidate, and evaluate data on oil spills reported to the National Response Center to determine the frequency and quantity of leaks from oil gathering lines not subject to 49 CFR Part 195 regulations. This study evaluated the frequency of leaks greater than 50 barrels and compared them with the frequency of leaks from pipelines subject to 49 CFR Part 195 regulations.

Public Abstract
