Main Objective

The Fredericksburg Fire Department is requesting assistance with the purchase of software to assist with the management of a possible hazardous materials release. The requested amount will purchase the software package as well as the supporting training to put the software to use.

Public Abstract

Under the terms of this agreement, the Recipient must demonstrate completion of the work through the actions it has specified in its Application. The software The City of Fredericksburg is to purchase is PEAC-WMD. It is designed to assist in ensuring that hazardous materials releases are rapidly identified and mitigated; victims exposed to the hazard are decontaminated, and treated; the impact of the release is limited; and responders and at-risk populations are effectively protected. The PEAC software will help to improve communication of incident data within and across agencies and jurisdictions via exchange of incident and substance specific data via email, allowing corresponding agencies such as environmental, health, and law enforcement to begin implementation of their standard procedures.
