Overview

Main Objective

Under this grant agreement, Maryland Underground Facilities Damage Prevention Authority will assist in the continued operation and maintenance of an on-line Damage Reporting and Enforcement System, complaint review and hearing process. The Authority's primary objective will be to maintain and operate the on-line website capacity to disseminate Maryland's prevention laws and regulations for all aspects of the damage prevention process. This includes, but is not limited to, disseminating information concerning public education programs as well as notices of probable violations, hearing procedures and processes, and the use of civil penalties for violations assessable by the Authority.

Public Abstract

Under the terms of this grant agreement, the Recipient will address the following elements listed in the approved application as stated in 49 U.S.C. §60134 (b). * Element 7 (ENFORCEMENT): Enforcement of State damage prevention laws and regulations for all aspects of the damage prevention process, including public education, and the use of civil penalties for violations assessable by the appropriate State authority.
