Main Objective

Under this grant award San Carlos. City of, will

  • Prepare, publicize and distribute pipeline safety materials and information (i.e.. newsletter(s), information packets, flyers, point of purchase media. i.e., stickers, floor mats, etc.) for residents. businesses and contractors;
  • Prepare for and coordinate various educational community meetings, workshops and sessions for residents. contractors. businesses and/or local schools;
  • Develop partnership with PG&E to improve communications and cooperation between organizations in an effort to improve pipeline safety awareness in the community.

Public Abstract

Under the terms of this agreement. the Recipient must demonstrate completion of the work through the actions it has specified in its Application.

  • City staff will coordinate with PG&E to develop a prograin and arrange workshops and other educational opportunities. The goal will be to hold as many open houses, workshops and school educational functions as possible during the first year of the program.
  • City staff will coordinate with PG&E and consultants to develop, publish and distribute newsletters and other informative materials such as maps, evacuation procedures. point of purchase media on 811-Call Before You Dig. etc. At least one newsletter will be published in 2014 Customize and improve upon some of the information PG&E provides its customers as soon as possible.
  • City staff will develop information for the City website within the first few months of the program. providing links to PG&E information, etc.
  • City staff will work with PG&E and entities such as the League of Cities to enact regulations to ensure that contractors comply with safety requirements.
