Main Objective

Under this grant award Alamo Improvement Association, Inc., will increase education and training of first responders and their knowledge in handling a pipeline emergency.

Public Abstract

Under the terms of this agreement, the Recipient will demonstrate completion of the work through the actions it has specified in its Application.

  • Provide a stronger, more educated and credible "public" voice for protection of people and the environment and ensure better representation of the public in official proceedings pertaining the pipeline safety issues and address the need for residents to become better educated and aware of their own actions with regard to Pipeline Safety and address the need for First Responders to be educated and trained for Pipeline Emergencies.
  • Alamo Improvement Association, Inc., will use a portion of the funds for the Pipelines Emergency Education and Training program offered by the National Association of State Fire Marshals and for the education and training for local Firefighters and Sheriff's Deputies.
  • Alamo Improvement Association, Inc., will recruit interested members of the community and recruit regulatory and industry advisors for a series of community meetings on the subject of Pipeline Safety.
  • Alamo Improvement Association, Inc., will develop a new public section of its website that pertains to pipeline safety for information on local events, fact finding, and official proceedings.
  • Alamo Improvement Association, Inc., will increase awareness of "811-Call Before You Dig" programs within the community through a companion series of notices and announcements in local newspapers and on website.
