Main Objective

Under this grant award City of Richmond will ensure that they are appropriately prepared for a natural gas emergency through use of GI'S technology, GIS databases. information sharing, and educational outreach to the community.

Public Abstract

Under the terms of this agreement. the Recipient will demonstrate completion of the work through the actions it has specified in its Application.

  • Use GPS technology to identifY city utilities within the pipeline corridor and an eight block evacuation area (four blocks on each side of the road) and create GIS databases and map books with this information. Provide basic GPS collection training to staff.
  • Perform a GIS-based pipeline safety risk assessment.
  • Involve and share information with the Richmond City Fire Department and Cache County Fire District in the developtnent of routes and emergency strategies.
  • Provide educational outreach to the community, including mailers and advertisements.
