Main Objective

Under this grant award Tazewell County will implement an informative media campaign to reach community members (adults and schools) so they may understand the pipeline process and project that will cross through Tazewell County. In addition, funds will be utilized to update county website capabilities and current GIS applications so that citizens may have an interactive site that allows them to view pipeline project details..

Public Abstract

Under the terms of this agreement. the Recipient must demonstrate completion of the work through the actions it has specified in its Application.

• Implement an informative media campaign to reach community members so they may understand the pipeline process and project that will cross through Tazewell County.
• Update the county website capabilities and current GIS applications so that citizens may have an interactive site that allows them to see the where, when, what and why of the pipeline project. A portion of the county webs site will specifically detail the project and feature a question and answer section. GIS mapping of the pipeline. 811 Call before you Dig information, as well as communications and updates.
• Continue to develop a media campaign to highlight safety and environmental sensitivities in regards to the pipeline project as well as promote the 811 Call belbre you Dig with print and broadcast media.
• Target schools as a source to provide information and educate school age children.
• Utilize a report card system as a way to make sure costs are aligning with the proposed project goals and objectives.
