Main Objective

Under this grant award Oak Ridge Utility District will to review the GIS mapping data and develop an interactive electronic Outage Management System capable of identifying ways to contain line breaks throughout the distribution system. This will be accomplished by, first, converting the existing GIS system into a Geo database. The operators, conummity and public officials will be educated on the Outage Management Program and pipeline safety awareness.

Public Abstract

Under the terms of this agreement. the Recipient will demonstrate completion of the work through the actions it has specified in its Application.

  • Review all Oak Ridge Utility District's natural gas customers by map location to determine how many service lines and meters will require GPS points to be taken or modified Determine if service lines are shown in the !napping database and if any additional program/Fling is required to connect them to the gas' 111(linS' Within our existing mapping database as part of the proposed valve isolation implementation plan.
  • Develop a valve isolation plan n* each customer's specific service location to determine which valves would isolate the smallest segment of the distribution system while containing the line break for each customer. Determine which customers would be affected with the outage and print or display a cut-off list fir work crews.
  • Outage Management Program using the current ESRI software. clean up current !napping database structure and supervise the implementation of the overall implementation of valve management program.
