Main Objective
Under this grant award City of Hogansville will develop a GIS database and mapping tool for the natural gas system of Hogansville, Georgia. The GIS database will be developed from a collection of existing gas system maps, valve location records. customer lists and GPS mapping data. The objective of the project is to create a reliable source of information concerning the natural gas system, thereby increasing the safety of those working with the system and that of the public served by the system.
Public Abstract
Under the terms of this agreement, the Recipient will demonstrate completion of the work through the actions it has specified in its Application.
- Initial data collection (system maps. .field personnel input. etc.).
- Field surveying using GPS equipment, digital photography and ground penetrating radar.
- Assimilation of data into ArcGIS and quality control checks.
- Development °fend user interface and integration of data to Other GIS systems used by stakeholders.
- Field verification of data and modifications, if needed.
- Project certification and project team debriefing meeting.
