Main Objective

The MPSC will:

  1. Foster support and partnership with stakeholders
  2. Support a Damage Prevention Education Program for industry stakeholders

Public Abstract

ELEMENT 2 - COMPREHENSIVE STAKEHOLDER SUPPORT: The Statewide Coordinator will enhance this element by bringing expertise and continuity to the state damage prevention program. ELEMENT 4 - EFFECTIVE EMPLOYEE TRAINING: The continuation of a Statewide Damage Prevention Coordinator will allow the implementation of the plans put in place in 2010 and the first quarter of 2011. This will include 1) Coordinating and implementing field audits with MITA and pipeline operators at various excavation sites covering all regions in the State of Michigan; 3) Continuing the development of Damage Prevention Associations in the State of Michigan; 4) Providing financial support for every Damage Prevention Association in the Sate of Michigan to enable continued education of safe digging practices; 5) Coordinating Damage Prevention/ Excavator Education Seminars.
