Main Objective
The project entails a detailed evaluation of enforcement programs in place in the State of Georgia and Commonwealth of Virginia. The information gleaned from the evaluation would be utilized to determine revisions to the existing Tennessee Underground Utility Damage Prevention Act (TUUPDA) to support the implementation of an enforcement section (Element 7). Based on the revised TUUDPA, a tentative version of the organizational and operational structure of a damage prevention enforcement section would be developed including the preliminary development of enforcement policies and procedures. Since it is imperative that all stakeholders be partnered in and supportive of all aspects of the enforcement effort, the Tennessee Damage Prevention Committee of TN 811 would be active in this initial process of evaluation and program development.
