Main Objective
2003 International Offshore Pipeline Workshop
Public Abstract
Project complete as of June 2003. The International Offshore Pipeline Workshop 2003 was held on February 26 - 28, 2003 in New Orleans. The workshop was hosted by the MMS and PHMSA and sponsored by major oil and gas companies, offshore pipeline contractors, offshore service companies, and other related entities. Information collected and shared at this successful event will lead to new research projects, updated and new codes and standards, define critical technology needs to maintain the aging pipeline infrastructure and enter frontier areas, and provided critical feedback and background knowledge for the MMS and DOT policy makers. The workshop proceedings also provided ample items that can be used to address a multitude of issues for deepwater and Arctic in design, installation, leak detection, inspection and repair.
