Warning Letter Cases

Nationwide

This report shows all Warning Letters issued to operators since 2002. The tables show the date the Warning Letter was issued, the operator name, the PHMSA Region issuing the letter, and the PHMSA case number. When PHMSA inspections or other oversight activities reveal lesser violations or program deficiencies of an operator, the agency may issue Warning Letters notifying an operator that a probable violation of PHMSA's regulations has occurred and directing it to correct the violation or be subject to further enforcement action. PHMSA then follows up on these items during subsequent inspections. Warning Letters are described in 49 CFR 190.205. Because Warning Letters do not result in actual findings of violations or penalties, the cases are considered "closed" upon issuance.
