FAQ-247: Requirements applicable to plastic pipe

Question: For plastic transmission pipeline, must I meet all of the requirements in the sections specified in section 192.901 or just those requirements specifically directed at plastic pipe?

Answer: Section 192.901 states that of the requirements in subpart O only the requirements in sections 192.917, 192.921, 192.935 and 192.937 apply to plastic transmission pipeline. Each of these sections contains requirements specifically applicable to plastic pipelines. Operators of plastic transmission pipelines must meet the requirements in these sections that are specifically directed at plastic pipelines and need not comply with other requirements in the designated sections.
