Notice of Proposed Safety Order Cases Initiated

Nationwide

This report lists all of the Notices of Proposed Safety Order issued in a given year, beginning in 2010. The yearly tables include the date the Notice of Proposed Safety Order was issued, the name of the operator involved, the PHMSA Region initiating the enforcement action(s), the corresponding date on which the case was closed (when applicable), the current status of the case, and the PHMSA case number. Notices of Proposed Safety Order are used to notify an operator that a particular pipeline facility has a condition or conditions that pose a pipeline integrity risk to public safety, property, or the environment. The Notice also proposes actions the operator should take to address these risks.

A Notice of Proposed Safety Order addresses pipeline integrity risks that do not constitute a hazardous facility requiring immediate corrective action, but do need to be addressed over time. Corrective Action Orders are used to address hazardous facilities requiring immediate corrective action. Notices of Proposed Safety Order are described in 190.239.
